All our Sportster cams come with gears.

HQ-XL0043  “Whipper Sticks”

This cam is the exact same grind as it’s Big Twin brother the HQ-0023 which is our best selling cam. We suggest these cams be used in any sized Sportster engine with ported heads and a compression ratio of 10.5:1 or higher. Idles just like a Big Twin and will pull hard from off idle all the way up. They are really strong in the mid-range and upper end. Requires our HQ-2007 valve spring kit. We are flattered to see that one of our competitors liked this cam so well that he made one just like it with .005” less lift.

Timing specs measured at .053” tappet lift.

Intake   19/104/47    246  .600” lift

Exhaust  52/104/24   256  .530” lift

Our HQ-XL0043 Sportster cams will bolt directly into 2000 and up model years. With the use of the pinion gear pictured below they can be used in 1991-99 model years.
